Wine Club FAQ


How much does it cost to join the Beaulieu Vineyard or Hewitt Vineyard Wine Club?

There is no cost to join.


When can I expect to be billed for my club shipments?

BV Members will be billed quarterly in March, May, October, and January.

Hewitt Members will be billed quarterly in February, May, September and November. 


What states can you ship club shipments to?

Due to legal restrictions, we are only permitted to ship wine to the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WV & WI.


How long does my membership last?

For as long as you are happy with your subscription, with the minimum commitment of 2 shipments.

 

How will I know when I will be charged?

You will receive an email notification 2 weeks prior to the billing of your shipment, letting you know the selection and add-on options.  After billing you will see a charge from Beaulieu Vineyard on your statement.


How much will I be charged for shipping?

Shipping wine can be quite pricey (think heavy boxes & specialized packaging) so we have a set reduced, flat rate price of $15 for all ground and temperature-controlled club shipments.  Take advantage of the flat rate by adding on to your club shipment during the customization period - ship all the wine you want for only $15.  If you require faster shipping, we do offer express shipping for a $35 flat rate price and that can be selected during customization.


I have been charged for my shipment, when will I receive it?

Your card will be charged on the day your club shipment ships out.  For most of the West Coast, wine shipments are delivered 1 to 2 days later. For East Coast addresses, wine shipments are delivered between 5 to 10 business days. When your release is shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.


How can I make changes to my membership?

Please visit your Account page or you can give us a call at (707) 257-5749 for BV or (707) 968-3633 for Hewitt, Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 9am-5pm to update your account information over the phone.


What discounts do I receive as a Beaulieu Vineyard Member?

20% discount on BV wines

10% discount on Hewitt wines

15% discount on all winery merchandise

 

What discounts do I receive as a Hewitt Member?

20% discount on Hewitt wines

25% discount Hewitt wines for Hewitt Collector Members

10% discount on BV wines

15% discount on all winery merchandise for all Members

 

How do I use my membership discount?

BV and Hewitt  members receive their discount on any purchase made online at bvwines.com, while visiting our Cellar Door, or by calling us at (707) 257-5749.


How do I cancel my membership?

We hate to see you go, but if you wish, you may cancel your membership any time before your quarterly billing by logging into your Account then "My Wine Clubs" and "Manage Subscription".


What happens if my shipment is sent back to the winery?

The shipping service we use will make three delivery attempts before returning the wine to us. If the wine is returned to the winery, we can reship the order for a $15 fee. We suggest that you provide an address that will assure you receive the delivery, such as a place of business, with someone over the age of 21 present to sign for your order.


What if I end up with a corked or damaged bottle?

In the unlikely event that a bottle arrives damaged or corked (we inspect the wines incredibly closely before shipment), notify us as soon as possible so we can rectify the problem for you.


Can I skip or postpone a club shipment?

Yes.  You will receive an email notification 10 days prior to order finalization, notifying you that your customization window is now open.  At this time, you can choose an alternate shipping date or to skip the shipment altogether.  You must take a minimum of two shipments per year to maintain an active status and your benefits.


Can I customize my shipment?

You bet! You will be sent a link to view your shipment online when the customization window opens.  You will be able to add more wines or swap out wines to ensure you get the wines you want in every shipment.  Orders picked up at the winery can be customized during your visit.


Can I pick up my club shipment at the winery?

Yes, indeed.  If you live locally you can select to have all club orders be held at the winery for pick up for up to 35 days.  If your order is not picked up within 35 days, shipping will automatically be charged to the card on file and mailed out to you.  You can also make a one-off request to have your club order held during the customization window. 

 

Can someone else pick up my club shipment for me?

What a good friend you have! Just make sure to authorize it first by adding their name to your account in the Member Portal.  We hope they have time for a tasting while they are here.

 

What is an Optional Club Shipment?

In addition to your regular club shipment, we offer optional club shipments twice annually - Summer & Holiday.  These are special selections made exclusively for our club members in limited quantities.  You will receive an email announcing the special selection and be given the option to "opt-out" of the shipment if you would like to skip it.  You may permanently "opt-out" of the optional shipment program by emailing us and you will no longer receive access to the special releases.


Can I share my member benefits with friends or family in my absence?

You sure can.  Twice per year, you can add an additional name to your membership on your account page in the member portal.  This will give that person access to your benefits for a day, including a complimentary tasting for up to four adults, and a 20% discount on wine purchases.  Advance reservations are required.

 

How do I make a reservation for a tasting at BV?

BV and Hewitt club members receive complimentary tastings for the Club Member + 3 guests.  Reservations are made on our Visit page.  As a member, you will first need to make an account on Tock, our reservation platform,  using the email address you signed up with for your BV or Hewitt membership. Or you can give us a call at (707) 257-5749 for BV or (707) 968-3633 for Hewitt Monday-Saturday 9 am - 6 pm and Sunday 9 am - 5pm and we’d be happy to make the reservation for you over the phone.  

 

Where do club members taste?

Club members have their very own club room where they enjoy complimentary tastings. It's located in the hexagon-shaped building behind the Rutherford Grill restaurant.  Or on a nice day, choose the Reserve Room Patio where you can enjoy a complimentary Classic Tasting. The Reserve Room (indoors) and Tour are available but at half-priced for the experience instead of complimentary.  Please email your BV Club Ambassador, Karen Burleson, or Hewitt Club Ambassador, Tiffany Molina, to assist in making your next visit a memorable one.

 

Can club members enjoy a tour of the winery?

You bet.  Reservations need to made at least 24 hours in advance and club members receive half off the tour experience.

 

How many guests can I bring with me for a tasting?

As many as you want!  The first four, including you, are complimentary tastings.  Each person after four receives a half-price tasting.  Advance reservations are required so we can accommodate your club member experience in the best possible way.  Groups of 15 or more guests will need to email our events team to review options and customize your experience. 

 

Do I get complimentary tastings at BV's sister wineries?

Not typically, but we do have offers from time to time that allow you to receive complimentary experiences at our sister wineries.  You are welcome to visit them anytime but experiences are not discounted. Your BV Club Ambassador, Karen Burleson, or Hewitt Club Ambassador, Tiffany Molina, can assist with reservations.
