Winemaking

After hand harvesting and gently pressing the clusters, the juice was fermented with specifically selected yeast to enhance the wine’s intense fruit expression. Malolactic fermentation was blocked to preserve the pure fruit character. Fermentation took place in small, stainless-steel barrels and new French oak. The oak increased flavor complexity and richness, while bâtonnage and sur lie aging provided texture and roundness.

Vintage

The 2024 vintage will be remembered as a more normal year. Heavy winter rains provided much- needed soil moisture, supporting healthy canopy growth and resilient vines capable of enduring Napa Valley’s 60-degree diurnal temperature fluctuations. Harvest began in late August, continuing at a moderate pace through September, with rising temperatures accelerating the process into early October. This vintage will be celebrated for years to come, with white wines displaying remarkable brightness and depth of flavor.

Vineyard

Outstanding sites in the Rutherford, Stag’s Leap, and Calistoga American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) provide climate and soils ideal for Sauvignon Blanc. Each vineyard block was picked at peak maturity and fermented separately to increase the complexity of the wine. Sauvignon Blanc grown in Rutherford and Calistoga creates a wine that is rich and round with tropical fruit undertones, while the Stag’s Leap portion provides minerality and focus.
