This 2022 vintage offers an enticing aromatic experience with a clean and vibrant nose.The scent of guava, lime zest, leachy, and green apple intermingles with soft floral anddelicate white violet notes. As it was carefully aged in 37% new French oak barrels impartsa roundness and creaminess to the palate without overwhelming it, reminiscent of achardonnay but without excessive oakiness. The palate showcases a wellbalanced structure,with pronounced acidity that flows seamlessly, leading to a soft finish. The floral notespersist on the palate, accompanied by hints of lemon grass. The clean fruit finish leaves anapproachable impression. This perfect summer wine can absolutely be enjoyed now.
The winter was characterized by warmth and dryness, with the arrival of rain and coolerweather only occurring towards the end of March. Although the mild spring allowed for apromising early beginning, the summer surprised us with cool mornings and scorchingafternoons. As a result, the harvest proved to be smaller and more demanding than everbefore. Despite its challenges, the grapes yielded concentrated flavors and remarkableacidity, resulting in wines of utmost excellence.

This Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies its origin from remarkable locations within theRutherford AVA, primarily sourced from our vineyards situated on the eastern Rutherfordbench. Rutherford, nestled in the center of Napa Valley, possesses the optimal climate andsoil conditions for cultivating Sauvignon Blanc. Every vineyard section was harvested at itsoptimal ripeness and underwent separate fermentation to enhance its intricacy. As a result,Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc produces a luscious and well-rounded wine infused with hintsof tropical fruit.
The Maestro Sauvignon blanc was aged in a mix of stainless steel and new French oak tohelp achieve better balance with a less austere profile. Weekly bâtonnage (stirring of thesettled lees) was performed to better integrate yeast flavors with fresh tropical and pommelfruit flavors. The fruit was harvested in the cool early morning to help keep the fruit freshand the acids high.
