750mL

Reflecting a silvery, starlight glow, Beaulieu Vineyard’s Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc shines brightly with citrus aromas of grapefruit and lemon peel, complemented by a soft scent of passion fruit and fresh-cut aloe at its core. Citrus and stone fruit highlight the palate entry with bursts of key lime, mandarin, and apricot flavors. Well-balanced, refreshing acidity ushers in a grounded minerality that rounds into a creamy mid-palate and lasting finish of kiwi, shaved almond, and vanilla. Enjoy this classic, exceptionally expressive Sauvignon Blanc with shrimp ceviche, aguachile, and herbed pasta primavera.

Winemaking

After hand-harvesting and gently pressing the clusters, the juice was fermented with specifically selected yeast to enhance the wine’s intense fruit expression. Malolactic fermentation was blocked to preserve the pure fruit character. A majority of the wine was fermented in stainless-steel barrels, while a small portion was fermented and aged in new French oak. The oak aided in increased flavor complexity and richness while bâtonnage (stirring) and sur lie (on the yeast) aging provided texture and roundness.

Vintage

The 2025 growing season was defined by substantial winter rainfall and cooler overall conditions, setting a steady, unhurried pace in the vineyards. Ample soil moisture and the absence of major heat events allowed for gradual, even ripening, with early phenolic development occurring at lower sugar levels. This contributed a vibrant natural acidity and refined structure to the wines without excess weight. Brief rain events during harvest required patience and careful timing, ultimately allowing for precise picking decisions and extended macerations that built texture. The resulting white wines reflect this precision, brightness, and enhanced site expression.

Vineyard

This Sauvignon Blanc shows a true sense of place, coming from outstanding sites in the Rutherford American Viticultural Area (AVA), with the majority sourced from our own estate vineyards on the Eastern Rutherford bench. Rutherford, located in the heart of Napa Valley, has the ideal climate and soils for Sauvignon Blanc. Each block was picked at its peak maturity and fermented separately to increase the complexity of the wine. Sauvignon Blanc grown in Rutherford creates a wine that is rich and round with tropical fruit undertones.
