Tasting Notes

The 2017 Maestro Collection Napa Valley Rosé is a stunning medium pink in the glass. The lifted strawberry, watermelon, and Hibiscus flower aromas are entrancing. The fresh fruit flavors on the palate mingle with nuanced notes of Rainier cherry and orange zest. The inviting wine is restrained yet has a creamy texture balanced by fine acidity leading to a lengthy finish.

Vineyard Notes

The varietals that comprise the 2017 vintage of the Maestro Rosé come from our BV Ranch 12 Vineyard in the Calistoga American Viticultural Area (AVA), at the northern region of Napa Valley. This area offers some of the Napa Valley’s warmest daytime temperatures but also some of its coldest nights during the growing season. This strong diurnal variation allows the fruit to fully ripen and develop intense flavor characteristics while maintaining good acidity levels.

Winemaking Notes

The 2017 vintage in the Napa Valley was smaller yielding but high in quality. The region enjoyed much needed rain during the winter months ending the drought. A short period of warmer than usual temperatures during Labor Day weekend accelerated harvest for early grapes varieties resulting in an intense and, at times, unpredictable harvest. Though yields were lower than usual, the wines show exceptional flavor intensity.
