A New Chapter for Beaulieu
At Beaulieu Vineyard (BV), we are thrilled to unveil the next chapter in our storied history with the renovation of our iconic winery. As we embark on this transformation, we are not only restoring the grandeur of our historic estate but also preserving the vision our founder had when he first purchased the vineyard—a dream to craft exceptional wines in this remarkable region. Designed to seamlessly blend the past and future, we're embracing our heritage while investing in luxurious, memorable, and interactive hospitality spaces and experiences that will continue to delight wine enthusiasts for generations to come. We are maintaining the charm and tradition that have made BV a cornerstone of Napa Valley winemaking, with an anticipated completion in spring 2026.
Winemaking continues on-site. Additionally, the current Reserve Tasting Room, located at the south end of the building, and the adjacent club lounge are open during construction. We look forward to toasting this exciting new project on your next visit!
The Historic Evolution of Beaulieu Vineyard
Beaulieu Vineyard has always held a leadership position in Rutherford and Napa Valley providing noteworthy contributions to the American wine industry, steadfast community involvement, and a solid commitment to caring for the land. When our founders Georges de Latour and his wife Fernande first laid eyes on their original Rutherford vineyard (still farmed by BV today), she exclaimed, “Quel beau lieu,” or “What a beautiful place.”
Our historic winery, constructed in the 1880s with elegant stone structures and distinguished twin gabled roofs, was purchased by the de Latours in 1923. Over the decades, it underwent several renovations and alterations under different proprietors. It’s time to bring our Rutherford jewel into the next century.

Renovation Details
The redesign will restore the original stone buildings visible in historic photographs while providing an even more inviting and elevated visitor experience that weaves together past and future. Spearheaded by Signum Architecture, the redesign will feature a rerouted entry adjacent to the winery’s Seneca Vineyard. New spaces in the two-floor building will include an open-air tasting courtyard, multiple tasting rooms, a luxurious club member lounge, a Georges de Latour Private Reserve Wine Library for collector experiences, and an expansive hall overlooking the vineyards with flexible seating to accommodate larger groups.
Collaborating with a professional historian and archivist, we meticulously inventoried our historical collection of physical and printed materials in 2022. Pieces from this collection, including treasures like Georges de Latour’s original 1925 Cadillac Imperial Touring Car, will be artfully incorporated throughout the spaces and brought to life with immersive storytelling and exhibitions.
Sustainability Effort
The renovation also highlights our bold sustainability vision to run on one hundred percent renewable electricity this year and be carbon neutral for our operations by 2030. The project will incorporate sustainable materials throughout, and the renovation team will seek creative new uses for those materials removed from the building. A new solar array will renewably power the site, including ample EV parking and an all-electric kitchen. Finally, all exterior spaces will feature water-wise landscaping using native plants.
