BV Was There: 2010 to Today, a New Era

A new millennium brought new energy and new possibilities. The early aughts were filled with experimentation and planning that paved the way for exciting developments in the second half of the decade, from remarkable releases to talented young leaders and ownership whose sole focus is crafting outstanding wine.

Under the care of Treasury Wine Estates since 2016, BV is renovating for our next century, not only restoring the grandeur of our historic estate but preserving the innovative vision of our founders. We’re excited to celebrate our grand reopening this coming summer and sharing our award-winning wines with you in our tasting room anytime!

2013: A rare vintage of Rarity is produced. Originally crafted in 1968 by legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff, and only five times since, every sublime sip is a transformative experience.

2015: Madame de Latour Red Wine debuts in honor of our beloved co-founder and long-time president, Fernande de Latour.

2016: Treasury Wine Estates acquires BV.

2017: Trevor Durling joins BV as General Manager and Chief Winemaker.

2022: Our 2019 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon receives 100 points and Wine of the Year accolade from James Suckling.

2023: BV is honored with the California Green Medal Leader Award for its leadership across the full spectrum of sustainability – environmental protection, social equity, and economic viability.

2024: Large-scale renovations begin at our historic property.

2024: Multiple long-term projects and collaborations designed to create a more sustainable future at BV begin coming to fruition.

  • BV now runs on 100% renewable energy, including power from a new 1,500-panel solar array – well on its way to realizing the goal of carbon-neutral operations by 2030.

  • Completes transition to 100% herbicide-free vineyard management across all Rutherford properties. This change helps lower soil surface temperatures, protect beneficial microbial life, improve winter water infiltration, slow runoff, and moderate ripening.

  • Sees the rewards of joint effort with Napa County and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to restore a tributary of the Napa River that runs through BV’s Rutherford vineyards.

2025: BV celebrates its 125th anniversary with a full year of events, limited-releases, the dedication of the searchable Beaulieu Vineyard Collection at UC Davis, and historic interviews with BV friends and family. Learn more about our heritage.

2025: Nate Weis joins BV as General Manager and Senior Winemaker. His favorite BV wine right now? The upcoming 2023 Madame de Latour Red Wine
