A Look at Muscat Canelli
Muscat Canelli
Muscat, one of the oldest grape varieties that has been used to produce wine around the world for centuries. Today there are over 200 varieties within the Muscat family, with Muscat Canelli being one of the most popular. This variety has come to have many different names worldwide: Muscat á Petits Grains in France, Moscato di Canelli or Moscato Bianco in Italy, Muskateller in Germany, and Muscat Canelli in the United States. Known for its prominent floral and fruit aromatics, this grape produces a variety of white wine styles that range from dry to sweet and sparkling to still. Here at BV, we have produced two different styles: a lush and refreshing off-dry still and a sweeter Sauternes-like dessert wine.
NV Muscat de Beaulieu
Very Sauternes-like in style offering beautiful high-tone expressive perfumed aromas of jasmine, orange blossom, ripe peach, honey and mandarin oranges. The intriguing bouquet leads to a mouthwatering palate filled with citrus, peach, honey, vanilla creme and almond flavors. The viscous palate is delicate and very well balanced, supported by refreshing vibrant acidity that leaves a lingering, memorable finish
